All of us at Arey’s Pond want to thank everyone who registered for the 26th annual Cat Gathering. Your support of this annual tradition, thanks to the Harbormaster office and the Town of Orleans, goes a long way in helping the Friends of Pleasant Bay in their work and the parade of sail honors the years and years of sailing that has been a part of the bay.

What many sailors consider one of the toughest two-hour small boat courses around, due to the challenges the narrows pose to the skipper, this year’s Cat Gathering tested our patience. Below, find the results for those who hung in there and battled their way through the narrows in 0–3 knots of wind against a strong current. You can also find the results of the race and the warm-up race below — which was a Gathering in itself with nearly 30 boats and a picture-perfect day. Your patience and commitment to having fun created a photograph that someday may be a historic picture at the narrows and we want to thank you again for joining us.

The results of the Saturday race are based on photos and testimonials of sailors of what their position was before the tide turned. Congratulations to all participants! Looking forward to next year!
