Assistant Rigger

Arey’s Pond Boat Yard is a full-service waterfront and boat-building facility on lower Cape Cod, specializing in sailboats, fiberglass repair, high-end finish work, and rigging. We’re also a renowned builder of catboats and custom wood and fiberglass vessels.

We’re looking for a motivated individual with boat handling experience and a genuine love of boats and sailing. While experience is a bonus, what we value most is a hard-working, motivated, and committed attitude. Pay: $22–26/hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Rig and de-rig sailboats
• Launch, haul, and trailer boats
• Deliver vessels by water and land across Cape Cod
• Set, pull, service, and assemble moorings
• Assist Head Rigger/Waterfront Manager with rigging repairs, new builds, and waterfront operations
• Maintain company vessels
• Winter: service spars and rigging, varnish/paint, assist in boatbuilding

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of marine service experience or related training preferred
• Valid driver’s license (towing experience a plus)

Preferred

• Ability to rig any style vessel with confidence and efficiency
• Knowledge of Pleasant Bay and surrounding waters
• Experience towing small to medium vessels
