Cat Gathering
Our annual Cat Gathering is a time for catboats of all shapes and sizes to come together for a just-for-fun regatta through Pleasant Bay.
AP 14 Worlds
The title of the event may sound intimidating to those of you who have not raced regularly. We want to dispel any worries, this will be a fun event like the Cat Gathering. The goal is to have our 14’ catboats recognized as a one design class by US Sailing. This will allow us to expand the racing and host events in other locations.
There are now 4 generations of the Arey’s Pond 14’ catboat. To make things fair for those with older boats, every iteration of the boat will have a handicap based on its weight and model.
Friday’s race day will be a best of three, and the Cat Gathering will be the next day. We hope that those traveling from afar with attend both events.
